Small Business Accounting Software

Do you have a small business? If so, what accounting software do you use, if I may ask? Chris and I have used Quickbooks in the past and found it didn’t cover all the areas we wanted and made other areas more detailed than needed. We are going to try Microsoft Money 2007 and see if it fits the bill any better. I saw Peachtree also as an option. The price point for Money sure was nice in comparison to Quickbooks and Peachtree. I really liked MS Money for personal use in years past when I used a PDA. Now I use a smartphone so I’m not sure I’d key in purchases etc. as easily as when I had a stylus in hand.

We’ll see… at 89.99 it’s definitely worth a try. It’s the home and business version if it works out well, it’s a steal if you ask me. Some of the other software is priced in the 400’s or more and that was just for business management.

Any experience you all can comment on with any of these products or others that you’ve used? Would you recommend any of them or pass?

Time

I’m bad at managing my time wisely. It’s not for lack of time management software, calendars, or lack of people who love me and tell me to do “so and so.” I have all those things. It’s my own doing these days. I’ve been feeling the need to just “be” to not do or feel so stressed and rushed to meet expectations. In doing this I have let my responsibilities slide. If you are one that I love and haven’t answered, I’m sorry. I’m in the process of cleaning up and clearing out all the cobwebs in the corners of my inbox. I’ve been reminescing and filing through lovely friendly emails and feeling bad for not answering. So… look out, you may get a weird response from me about something that happened quite awhile ago.

I went from 782 in the inbox to 82 now. To me that is major filing. Woo Hoo! I had way too may threads of conversations just sitting in my inbox.

I also have an over happy spam filter. I too am a culprit of not looking through each of the emails slowly and closely enough. If I don’t know the name off the top of my head I usually delete. “Tonight I was smacking myself on the hand and saying, NO - bad Ponzi.” Not a good habit - to allow your spam filters to really filter your inbox.

Do you have a special way of clearing your virtual or physical inbox? Any tips would be much appreciated!
