Honeymoon Wisdom

We’re on our Honeymoon! On a Regent Seven Seas cruise vessel to be exact. I’m starring out our window at the sea - it stretches for as far as I can see. :)I’m relaxing and enjoying married life. More to come later - Chris and I are taking movies and pictures for memories. I’m sure we will be sharing our adventures soon.Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, Belize and The Bahamas. The Mayan ruins are why we chose this trip. I’m so excited to go exploring I can’t focus on anything else! Wish us luck tomorrow as we go out in our hiking boots for the first time.

The Four Agreements a book that includes Toltec wisdom has peaked my curiosity to see the birth place of its people. The language and thought patterns taught by the Toltec way seem so civilized and it’s language of community seem so selfless. Also the architecture has always caught my attention. I’ve heard stories of human sacrifice and savage games played in these places long, long ago. I’m eager to learn more truths rather than hearsay and opinions. There’s something really special about the privledge of learning about a place in person rather than through a book. I feel very fortunate to be able to go to these wonderful places. Hopefully I will gain better insight to the Mayan people of long ago, their way of living and how it has shaped or lost it’s roots in the world we live in day to day.

Books have always touched my life and brought me to new places and new adventures. Each time I visit a new place I’ve only read about I get cold chills and adrenaline rushes before - the anticipation is intoxicating!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

I have so much to be thankful for - in no particular order.

1.) Electricity - we had ours knocked out by a huge storm up here in the pacific northwest. Four days without power will make you a thankful geek or geekette as soon as it comes back on. :)

2.) A new house - new to us anyway. Two years new to be exact. I feel like a queen we have so much more room and no more smelly moldy closets to deal with. (whew)

3.) A husband who loves me and makes me happy.

4.) Family who loves me and supports me and my decisions.

5.) Friends and community who touch my heart again and again with their kindness and love. Our wedding was beautiful, just beautiful - and it was all because of our wonderful friends and family.

I hope you too are having a wonderful day!

Three more days until I’m cruising on my honeymoon with my new hubby! Pics to follow soon!

I’m married. :) The first small trial has presented itself.

Our wedding was wonderful. It was dreamlike and happier than I ever could have imagined it to be. We have wonderful friends and family; they made our day sweeter for all being together and celebrating with us. We know how busy all of our friends and families lives are. For them to take time out and for lots of them to fly/drive long trips to be with us - well, there are no words for how it makes us fee - l other than, totally loved.

There was only one damper on the evening. Someone decided to lift Chris’ tablet. The very tablet he read his vows from. Now I’m not going to let this ruin our special day though I must confess being hurt that a guest may have taken it. I say it was a guest because the Club pulled all the surveillance videos and combed through them for hours and hours just to be sure it wasn’t any of their employees. We got a phone call from the manager saying she has a “strong feeling” she knows who took it. There were only two people in the area where the tablets were being held and only an hour between when they were dropped off by our attendents and when they turned up missing.

Chris and I have a 1pm appointment today to go in and watch the videos. Ugh. I’m not looking forward to this. I’m really hoping it’s someone I don’t know. Hard to be true since we had an intimate wedding with close friends.

I’m a bit heartbroken but mainly just worried about who would take it and why? Are they in trouble that we don’t know about? Do they need money? Why? I think that’s the worst burning question - why would anyone take that specific tablet? Our purses were all open in view while we were all dancing and drinking and chatting. So why take the computer and not money if you were in “need”

I’m going to go watch the video because we should. Afterward I don’t want to let this upset me. If the tapes are conclusive then we will ask the person in the video - if they have it. If they aren’t I’m ready to let this go and move on.

My Wedding Vows

Chris, I love you. You are the reason I believe in sappy love songs and happy endings. Thank you for all the ways you make my life better. You are an inspiration. Your love is a foundation on which I lean. It gives me confidence to be more than I ever have.

You’ve taught me that loving myself and doing that which makes me happy does the whole world good. You are all the things one hopes for in a life partner. I am lucky beyond comprehension to get you all to myself.

You are kind, considerate, loving, thoughtful, and full of life. You listen when I need an ear. You are strong when I’m weak and loving when I’m crabby. You pick up the pieces when they’ve all fallen down and help me move on to the next chapter when I’m too weak to push forward.

You are my solid - the person I can turn to for anything and know deep in my heart that you will do what you can to help me no matter if you agree with me or not. You are a man of integrity, passion, and much love.

I’m privileged to be your partner in this life - and I vow to do my very best to be all these things to you my friend, my soul mate.
